Jerry Jones pleased with Pacman's commitment

In a heartwarming tale of two long lost brothers, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has praised his younger brother (er... probably) Adam 'Rainman' Jones.

Jones Jnr is on a short leash in Dallas, and whether by choice or not, is opting to spend his three week break before Training Camp in the Dallas area. The move makes a lot of sense for both sides. If Pacman can keep out of trouble for the next two months, he should be reinstated before the opener against the Brownies. Obviously Jerry Jones is a smart man, and it wouldn't surprise us if he has the other Jones under an unofficial curfew, in an ettempt to avoid any kind of bad publicity.

Jones also regailed the press conference with a stroy about Deion Sanders and Pacman taking a fishing trip. 'Quite odd' does not do this one justice.

"He was telling me he was so tired of Deion catching more fish than him that he asked a friend of mine if he knew a pro fisherman who could give him some tips, he was so proud that he called me and told me that he outfished Deion. He is a competitor. He caught a big fish in the deciding catch in the competition and called me to tell me about it. That was a big deal to him."

Seriously though, we're never going to run out of nicknames for Pacman if he keeps up his dedication to extra-curricular activities.

Jumping to conclusions

The guys at Profootballtalk are what could be described as 'sound'. There's generally always something readable on the site, and we have very little gripes with the way things are written. It's one of the sites that we casually browse every so often in the never ending quest for something interesting to write about.

There is one problem though, that we think they need to work on.

Today Mike Florio posted the following article regarding disgraced Radio presenter Don Imus. Imus was the fool who referred to the Rutgers' womens basketball team as 'Nappy-headed Ho's', and subsequently lost his CBS radio gig as a result. It was a stupid remark to make, and it's not easy to have sympathy with someone who is stupid enough to make such a comment.

Unfortunately, PFT have jumped to the conclusion that Imus is 'at it again'. The audio clip that we heard seemed to not reveal Imus as a big daft racist, but as someone who was making a point that African-Americans are much more likely to be stopped. If PFT are so certain of the racial connotations, they should ask themselves this: Why did Imus set up the question by asking the host what colour Adam Jones is? In our view, only a member of the KKK would have set up a comment like that live on the radio. Imus has only ever apologised for his Rutgers comments, and perhaps it's the British sense of irony and sarcasm that lets us take things at other than face value.

Even if your website is run by a lawyer, you should be careful of who you categorise as 'overtly and blatantly racist'

Apart from that, good job guys.

Adam "Not Pacman" Jones

In an effort to distance himself not only from the turmoil of his troubled past (including his non-existent 2007 season) but from everyone's favourite Japanese arcade game, Adam Jones has requested that the media drop his "Pacman" nickname (ESPN Reports).

Wide-Right predicts a 2008 NFL season full of commentary including the phrase "the player formally known as Pacman" (if indeed the player formally known as Pacman is reinstated).


In other, unrelated news, Sadia Morrison - who was with Mr Jones at the time of the now infamous LA Strip Club incident - has been found dead in New York.

Her family believe that while she was murdered, it was not related to the 2007 shooting at the Minxx Strip Club.

Miss Morrison was a stylist, publicist and promoter and had styled several A-list celebrities, including 50 Cent and Kanye West.
